The good news
Breast cancer is the most common female cancer in Singapore. It is also the number one cause of cancer deaths among women here. According to the Singapore Cancer Registry, this cancer accounted for almost one in three cancers diagnosed in women between 2011 and 2015. But there is good news. With early detection through screening and improved treatments that are more targeted, more women are surviving breast cancer. Women can also do more to reduce their risk of getting the cancer. This includes eating more healthily, exercising more, limiting alcohol intake, not smoking, and making other lifestyle changes.
